John Hugley is returning to the city of Pittsburgh. On3’s Joe Tipton is reporting that Hugley is transferring to Duquesne. NEWS: Xavier transfer big man John Hugley has committed to Duquesne, he told @On3sports. The 6-10 senior scored a season-high 13 points on Creighton earlier this season. The former 4⭐️ recruit spent three years at Pitt and last season at Oklahoma.

Employing a general manager in college sports is now a necessity and the Pitt basketball program has their man. Per college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, Pitt has hired former West Virginia director of recruiting Jay Kuntz as the program’s new general manager. No official announcement has been made by the Pitt Athletics Department. Keep in mind, the university has never formally announced the hiring of Doug Whaley as the Pitt football general manager.

With only six players currently on the roster, the Pitt basketball program will be in communication with plenty of players in the transfer portal over the upcoming weeks. In fact, Pitt will be hosting a player that would fill a need over the weekend. Per CBS Sports Insider Jon Rothstein, UNC-Wilmington forward Khamri McGriff will be making a visit to Pitt this coming Sunday, followed by a trip to Oklahoma.

This morning, Pitt learned that they’re now a finalist for one of the best 3-point shooters in college basketball last season.
