Anna Muzychuk leads By Milan Dinic, FIDE's Press Officer For the best part of round six in the FIDE Women's Grand Prix, it seemed that this would be a calm day on the chessboards. What began as a seemingly tranquil round turned into a thrilling display of sharp moves and nerves. Anna Muzychuk continues to lead with 4½/6, after she drew with Nana Dzagnidze in the only peaceful game of the day. Zhu Jiner scored her fourth victory, climbing to shared second place, half a point behind Anna.

Ukrainian Anna Muzychuk had a great showing against the former Women’s World Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk, taking her to 3.5/4 and a sole lead in the tournament. Anna Muzychuk defeated Olga Badelka with the black pieces, joining Vaishali Rameshbabu in shared first after the Indian comfortably drew with Nana Dzagnidze. Alexandra Kosteniuk stopped Tan Zhongyi with a confident performance, while Zhu Jiner bounced back from the bottom, defeating Nurgyul Salimova.
