DETROIT (WJRT) - Frankenmuth lost to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, 42-7, in the Division 5 state championship game. Notre Dame Prep is coached by Pat Fox, a Frankenmuth alum, who led the Fighting Irish to the football program's first-ever state championship victory. The loss is the first and only for the Eagles, who finish the year at 13-1. Frankenmuth seniors have compiled a 49-5 record over the past four seasons, with four regional championship and two Division 5 state runner-up trophies.

DETROIT (WJRT) - Millington defeated Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central, 24-0, to win the school's first-ever football state championship and complete a 14-0 perfect season. Senior running back Dallas Walsh was the engine for the Cardinals offense, rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown. "We were the underdog all year," Walsh said. "We took it personal. We kind of thought we were destined to do this.
