Two women whom I have seen so far to have aged gracefully are my Amma (mother) and Zeenat Aman. These ladies do not have much in common; they belonged on two different ends of spectrums. Amma was a domestic goddess who took care of her family and home by creating a feeling of warmth and welcome. Zeenat Aman is a sensual woman, a Bollywood sensation, known to have made “scandalous” headlines back in the day for her seductive dance moves in many films.

What is kindness? Is it accepting substandard work or is it insisting that only the best quality is acceptable? There is often a lot of confusion about this, and people think that they are being kind when they say nothing to their group members, family or friends who routinely over promise and under deliver. I want to distinguish here between inability and unwillingness. If someone is learning English, I wouldn’t discard something he had written because it had spelling and grammatical errors.
