If you’re on the University of Missouri’s campus on a weekday during lunchtime, you’re bound to see a big, yellow trailer, filling the air with smells of smash patties grilling, bread toasting and onions caramelizing. This is The Melt Masters truck, the brainchild of MU students and friends Kobe Messick, Connor McHugh, Keegan Hartnett and Sam O’Neill. The Melt Masters serve all things cheesy and affordable, catering to a customer base of fellow students.

It’s been a while since John Anderson has set foot on the University of Missouri's campus as more than a guest. After 25 years anchoring ESPN’s flagship program, SportsCenter, he’s exchanged sidelines commentary all around the country for a Columbia classroom. In June, the Missouri School of Journalism announced it hired Anderson as the Endowed Chair in Radio and Television Journalism. He is returning to Columbia in the faculty position in January 2025.

In addition to the presidential race, Missouri's ballot will include state and county races, along with ballot measures on abortion access and ranked-choice voting.

To assemble the bags of popcorn offered at events like the Mizzou Homecoming parade, popcorn farmer Brad Law first has to "assemble the minions," his three sons and a few of his neighbors' children. Together, they pop, bag and label thousands of packages — all to help the state compete in this year's Crunch Off. This year they've assembled 41,180 total bags for the competition, 5,000 of which will be tossed to Mizzou Homecoming parade attendees.
