They are both forms of supremacy that function around extreme hierarchies, social manipulation, and societal control. Colonial powers maintain control with elitism to divide society. This structure ensures social unrest within the broader population. Colonial systems impose extreme hierarchies based on religion, class, and ethnicity. Colonisers always place themselves at the top of these hierarchies.
