The Nation

The Nation

The Nation is a monthly magazine that offers a progressive take on American political and cultural news, along with opinions and analysis. It was established on July 6, 1865, as a follow-up to The Liberator, an abolitionist publication created by William Lloyd Garrison, which ceased publication in the same year after the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified. Following this, the magazine expanded its focus and became known as The Nation.
