The Home Office mixed up its own immigration facilities and incorrectly told a group of asylum seekers that they were awaiting deportation from the UK, The i Paper can reveal. In a series of letters to asylum seekers, Home Office staffers described the open accommodation site where the individuals were living as a pre-removal detention centre. An unknown number asylum seekers were temporarily denied access to financial aid because of the error.
