LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Did you or your child have a beloved stuffed animal that they just could not live without? For young Grayson, it’s his stuffed dog, and last week, Dog went missing!But thanks to a good Samaritan in the community, Grayson’s feelings of distress didn’t last too long. “We didn’t realize that we were missing Dog until that night whenever it was time to go to bed, and so we looked high and low for Dog. We couldn’t find Dog,” said Keidra Clark, Grayson’s mom.

(KPLC) - A group of Sulphur High alumni came up with a unique way to not only relive their youth, but give back to their community - with an ‘80s themed prom!“We had a blast; people from all over the United States showed up. We had them from Phoenix, Alabama, Washington state show up. We probably had about 400 people show up,” said class of 1981 graduate Mike Richard.

One Southwest Louisiana teacher has been impacting lives for 50 years. If you were a student in the Lake Area, you may have heard of Ms. Denise Jones. “She said, ‘Ms. Jones, I still remember you.’ I taught her maybe 40 years ago. She said, ‘It was just so many life lessons,’ and I said, ‘Yeah, that’s what it was,’” Jones said.

One such story is still in the making. “I’m going to be a first-generation science physician-scientist in my family, so it’s pretty exciting.”Claude Albritton is a young Lake Charles native who is making his mark in medicine. Albritton is currently enrolled at Meharry Medical College, participating in the Biomedical Sciences PhD program.
