Once upon a time there was a trendy store in Paris called Colette. Founded in 1997, it became a must-see destination for anyone living in or visiting the City of Light. For fashion-minded folk, it ranked right up there with the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre since its personality-packed selection full of chic clothing and accessories was something to behold. Sadly, this fairy tale doesn't have a happy ending since Colette closed its doors in 2017.

The New York Fashion Week Spring 2025 runway shows gave us plenty to look forward to. Like fanned-out tops and jackets, white dresses that are worthy of a walk down the aisle and handkerchief necklines. Brandon Maxwell, Aknvas and Maria McManus simply incorporate standalone handkerchiefs into outfits, while Rachel Comey's slip dress boasts a pointy bib up front. Turns out, handkerchief accents are already decorating more than necklines. They're also being used to enhance waistlines and hemlines.

If you thought/hoped the core craze was slowly slowing down, you're sadly mistaken. After many, many months of Barbiecore, cottagecore and balletcore, we've moved on to castlecore and fishermancore. We've already explored the former in great detail so we'll stick to the latter. There's no denying that nautical fashion is having a moment, which makes sense since we're diving head first into warmer weather. Plus, there are plenty of core staples out there right now.
