The Major League Baseball season opened in Seoul, South Korea on March 20th with the San Diego Padres playing the Los Angeles Dodgers. San Diego has their share of stars with Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, and Yu Darvish. The Dodgers, however, were the main attraction. Nicknames such as the “Deatles” and “Shonas Brothers” have been mentioned leading up to this game.

There has been a lot of news in the streaming world in recent days. Netflix announced they would televise a live fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on July 20th. Apple TV+ announced their Friday Night Baseball schedule through June. And as the NBA opened their exclusive negotiating window with Turner and Disney, they are confident that Amazon and Apple will likely grab a piece of the package as well. This adds to Amazon making a $110 million investment in Diamond Sports Group.

On July 29, 1990, I turned 5 years old, and all I wanted to do was watch the Mets game with my dad. However, that game was on ESPN, and we did not have cable. So, my dad and I sat around the kitchen table and listened to the game on the radio for about three innings until I went to sleep. The next few days I noticed there were other Mets games I could not watch, and my dad told me they were on cable. Thus, I knew my goal was to get cable before the start of the next season.
