The drama surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio took a new twist yesterday as protesters besieged the National Assembly, declaring support for the Kogi Central senator. The protesters, who carried several placards, called for Akpabio’s resignation. Police officers deployed at the National Assembly, however, dispersed the pro-Akpoti-Uduaghan protesters and prevented them from accessing the complex.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has started the 2024 cyber security awareness campaign. A statement from the office of the director-general of NITDA, Malam Kashifu Inuwa, said the awareness would focus on the growing of cyber-attacks. The campaign will focus on raising awareness on critical cybersecurity issues, including: Business Email Compromise (BEC), Smishing and Vishing, Spear Phishing, Securing Personal Information and Public Wi-Fi Security.

Obaro made this statement during an interaction with journalists at the Nigeria GovTech Conference and Awards held in Abuja. The Nigerian Legion (NL) ‘s national chairman, Major General AM Jubril (rtd), has announced that the organisation will soon change its name to the Veterans’ Federation of Nigeria. This announcement was made during the 60th National Council Meeting held in Abuja. Jubril stated that a draft bill to change the name of the Nigerian Legion to the Veterans’ Federation of Nigeria (VFN) has been submitted to the appropriate authorities.
