Thirty (30) countries have so far indicated interest to participate in the forthcoming 3rd edition of the AFRICAN U-18 Athletics championship schedule to hold in Ogun State South West Nigeria. According to the National Sports Commission, seventy (70) countries are expected to participate in the event which is scheduled for 16-20 of July, 2025.

Nigeria’s Nathaniel Ezekiel has been named the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year to cap off a dominant collegiate season with Baylor University which has now earned him one of the most prestigious honours in American college athletics. The honour was announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association following a vote by NCAA member coaches on Monday.

Nigeria’s men and women teams have emerged champions of the first African Flag Football Championship. The competition, organised by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), saw 11 teams from eight countries compete over two days at Club One Stadium in Maadi.
