1. IntroductionEosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a necrotizing vasculitis that affects small- and medium-sized blood vessels [1]. EGPA is histopathologically characterized by extensive infiltration of eosinophils and causes organ damage due to tissue inflammation and ischemia [2]. EGPA was first reported by Churg and Strauss in 1951 [3] and is now recognized as an antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis [4].
