The values of exports fell 1.3% from a year earlier, according to data released Sunday by the customs office. That compared with a decline of 2.4% estimated by economists in a Bloomberg survey.

    Yoon Suk Yeol (Bloomberg) -- Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will face his first criminal trial on Monday, just 10 days after being dismissed from office by the Constitutional Court, Yonhap reported, citing an unidentified source in the law industry. Yoon is charged with leading an attempted martial law plan in December and will appear as a defendant at Seoul Central District Court’s Courtroom 417, where trials of past former presidents have been held, according to the report.

    South Korea will scrap plans to increase the number of medical school students on condition that current students who took leave under protest return to their classrooms by the end of March. The government said in a statement Friday it will revert to setting the annual intake quota for medical schools at 3,058, the same number allowed for more than a decade through 2024, if students come back.
