A Gauteng businessman suspected of being the mastermind behind the gruesome murder of whistleblower Babita Deokaran is being criminally investigated for organising a hit on television actress and influencer Tebogo Thobejane. The businessman, reportedly under criminal investigation for corrupt tenders at Prasa, cannot be named at this stage.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s office says his official car was shot at several times while he was being driven from a recent ANC NEC meeting in the east of Johannesburg in an incident suspected to be an attempt on his life. Sunday World has been informed that the incident happened along the N12 highway on March 30, when Mashatile and his entourage were driving home from the meeting which was held at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.

The untouchable union leader who is allegedly wreaking havoc at Amatola Water Board in Eastern Cape, Victor Phumzile Totolo, has been found to be a former armed robbery convict who allegedly cooked his curriculum vitae to hide his criminal history. Totolo, a full-time shop steward for the South African Municipal Workers Union at Amatola Water Board, allegedly misrepresented facts on his CV and claimed that he was working at an engineering firm while he was in fact serving time in jail.

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) ambassador to South Africa, Binene Mulaja Fidèle, was sent packing three years on the job after it was established that he has a questionable South African permanent residency. A Sunday World investigation established that Fidèle was also v-listed (blacklisted) in South Africa for five years before he was nominated by Congolese President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to be ambassador to South Africa on February 15, 2022.
