A pair of Georgia Tech future players put on a show this past weekend in the track and field state championships. Let’s take a look at one of the players, star cornerback Dalen Penson. Penson won two events at the state championships, doing his thing in the 110M hurdles and the triple jump. Penson started off fast in the prelims on Friday, finishing with a 13.88 time to qualify for state in the 110-meter hurdles.

I went to check out Chad Fairchild in person at spring practice. He’s gotten bigger since i last saw him and has continued to improve his craft. I asked as a leader what he has been stressing. Here is what he had to say. “Dominant on the defensive side of the ball, and the main thing I have been stressing is getting to the ball. “11 hats getting to the ball,” said Fairchild. So what makes him different as a linebacker?

2026 Carrollton OL Zykie Helton is high on the Yellow Jackets. On Friday, Helton announced his top four schools, which include Georgia, Florida State, Alabama, and Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have been aggressive and standing out in the process for the standout junior. Helton is set to visit the Yellow Jackets on June 6th. His other official visits include Florida and Georgia thus far.

Another stop on the spring practice tour led me to Stephenson High School to check out the Jaguars as they prepare for their upcoming spring game. Once again, the Jaguars are a talented team with a lot of depth and key players at important positions. Head coach Marcus Jelks and defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator Rockshawn McNeil (AKA Coach Rock) are big parts of the program. Let’s take a look at Stephenson. Players to watch: EDGE KJ Green- This goes without saying.

2026 Four-Star WR Craig Dandridge is set to visit the Yellow Jackets on an OV on June 6th. Here is what he had to say about the Yellow Jackets. “Coach McKnight and Coach Dre have always been reaching out to me constantly to see how I am doing with track, my mental health, NIL, and things like that. Just helping me out, and I really appreciate them every time and Georgia Tech is a very special place. They came out and recruited me early and one of the first ACC schools to hop on me.

Final Observation: Sandy Creek was missing four of their receivers due to Track and Field State Championships, but I thought #17 flashed a lot when I went to see the Patriots practice. If you know his name or have his @ put it below @SCHSPatriots @CoachSmiley983 @glat74 https://t.co/HUjmJawDsN

Observation 8: Sandy Creek QB Caleb Hill has taken a jump forward this offseason. You can see by how quickly he gets the ball out and how he can go through his progression. Hill goes against some of the better defensive backs in the state which has in turn made him better. Also https://t.co/xH2jFIa1aj

Observation 7: Hearing a lot of good things about this offensive lineman Andrew Hollen (#68). Several parents in attendance were raving about the 2028 OL and his upside in the future. Hollen will be one to watch moving forward @SCHSPatriots @ArvonBacon @baconnetworkllc https://t.co/MMjOKY02o8
