Phillips Ogile Jakayo, the Abok LC3 chairperson and NRM publicity secretary for Oyam district, was arrested and detained on Tuesday at Oyam Central Police Station for alleged libel. Ogile is accused of falsely accusing Jane Frances Acilo, an aspiring Oyam woman MP candidate, of kidnapping and killing Ojok Julious. Ojok is also known as Ojok Adidit. He resided in Arwotongo village, Juma parish, Myene sub-county, Oyam district.

The Indianapolis Prize, the world’s leading award for animal conservation, has named Mwezi “Badru” Mugerwa the Winner of the 2025 Indianapolis Prize Emerging Conservationist Award.
