    Nardi Simpson is a Yuwaalaraay writer, storyteller and performer from the freshwater plains of north-western New South Wales. The area is known to local Indigenous people as Crocodile Country, where the stars tell people when to hunt for emu eggs, and when, after the rains, lakes form a mirror to the sky. Nardi also belongs to singing duo, the Stiff Gins, who write and perform songs in their traditional languages. Song of the Crocodile was published by Hachette in 2020.
