Two new District Court Judges and one Magistrate have been appointed today, serving both the Brisbane and Rockhampton courts. Peter Kuskie, previously of Rostron Carlyle Rojas Lawyers, is serving as a Magistrate at the Rockhampton Courthouse from today, 6 June. Sarah Farnden KC and Dominique Grigg will start positions as Judges of the District Court in Brisbane on Monday, 9 June, and Monday, 23 June respectively.

Following the success of the inaugural Seller Disclosure Roadshow, the Queensland Law Society is planning another two regional events in Rockhampton and Gladstone. The roadshow, which attracted more than 900 attendees to the in-person and livestream event in Brisbane last month, kicked off in April in Townsville. The most recent session in Mackay last week was presented to more than 40 legal practitioners including support staff. QLS and InfoTrack presenters in Mackay.

Queensland Courts and Tribunals will host two webinars in the lead-up to the 30 June release of electronic lodgement for civil claims in the Brisbane Supreme Court via the online services portal (OSP). Queensland Law Society members can register now and consider including paralegals and administrators. The webinars are:OSP Essentials for Brisbane Supreme Court Civil Claims on Thursday 12 June, 4.30pm–5pm. Webinar one will focus on the OSP, firm management and how to navigate the OSP.
