A single cell. A global business worth billions. A trade that can bring rewards—or human costs that cannot be measured. The human egg is a precious resource, exchanged in markets open, gray or black. To tell its story, we follow a teenage girl in India, lured into selling her eggs; a model in Argentina whose genetic makeup is prized; a mother in Greece, told by police that her eggs were stolen; and two “egg girls” from Taiwan who have put themselves at risk to earn money in the US. 1.

This week, I buckled down and actually became the honors student I know I am. Yeah, I know, in the past, I've been doing a lot of touring. I've talked in previous posts about how I have felt a bit frayed at the edges, given that my priorities are all split. The week of November 9th to the 16th, I had another quiet weekend in Cork. On November 10th, I worked entirely on my individual assignment for my Project Management course. I didn't quite finish it, but I got a decent chunk done. On Saturday, November 11th, I went out to attend a talk at a conference center called Nano Nagle Place. The speaker was Dr. Síghle Bhreathnach-Lynch. I was very, very excited to attend this talk, as I used quite a few of her articles in my paper about The Snake's Pass.
