This week, I buckled down and actually became the honors student I know I am. Yeah, I know, in the past, I've been doing a lot of touring. I've talked in previous posts about how I have felt a bit frayed at the edges, given that my priorities are all split. I was so insistent on "making the most of my study abroad," so excited and gung-ho at the thought that all of Ireland (and Europe) was right there - that I partially forgot the, uh, study part of study abroad. For a while.

For the rest of the week, I went to classes and studied. On Wednesday, November 22nd, I went to a Doctor Who night put on by the Science Fiction Society, where they had themed Magic: The Gathering games, and screenings of much-loved episodes. On Thursday, November 23rd, I went to a beginner horseback riding lesson with the UCC Equestrian Club. We rode in officers' cars to get to Hop Island Equestrian Centre. I rode in Rory's car.

The week of November 9th to the 16th, I had another quiet weekend in Cork. On November 10th, I worked entirely on my individual assignment for my Project Management course. I didn't quite finish it, but I got a decent chunk done. On Saturday, November 11th, I went out to attend a talk at a conference center called Nano Nagle Place. The speaker was Dr. Síghle Bhreathnach-Lynch. I was very, very excited to attend this talk, as I used quite a few of her articles in my paper about The Snake's Pass.
