Officers were called to Holloway Hill, near the roundabout with Guildford Road in Chertsey, at about 11:50 BST on Tuesday. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead later that evening and his family informed. The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene, assisted the police with their inquiries and no arrests were made, said the force.

Tess Howard, who was part of England women's 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medal squad, was made an MBE for services to inclusive sportswear for women and girls. The 26-year-old Team GB athlete, who plays for East Grinstead Hockey Club in West Sussex, has pushed for years for females to be able to wear shorts while playing the sport.

A former Surrey sub-postmistress wrongly jailed while eight weeks pregnant has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Seema Misra, who ran a post office in West Byfleet, is one of four leading campaigners to receive an OBE for their service to justice following the Post Office's Horizon IT scandal. Between 1999 and 2015, more than 900 sub-postmasters were convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting based on faulty computer data.

Firefighters from Surrey Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) will walk up and down the 34-storey Tower 1 in Woking's Victoria Square in full kit to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity. The residential skyscraper complex consists of three towers, with Tower 1 being the highest at 384ft (117m).
