The 42-year-old was placed on gardening leave after the Hoops' final home game of the season, a 5-0 defeat against Burnley in April. AdvertisementIt is understood former Rennes and Strasbourg head coach Julien Stephan will become their new boss. "The decision to place Marti on gardening leave towards the end of the season was not an easy one to make," chief executive Christian Nourry told the club's website.

Shop workers and residents in a Kent seaside town say they are "terrified" by anti-social behaviour which saw fighting and violence in front of shops and restaurants. Large groups of youths were filmed brawling and throwing chairs at restaurant staff in Broadstairs, with local business owners saying their properties had been damaged. A petition from residents is now calling for more to be done by Thanet District Council and Kent Police to tackle the "growing tide" of issues.

Families of Holocaust survivors have visited a Kent army base that helped rescue thousands of Jewish men. The members of the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) visited the Kitchener Camp at Sandwich on Thursday, which had been a haven from the Nazis for their parents and grandparents in 1939.

Fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes has sold 92 pieces from her personal collection at an auction in London. Among them was was a white dress, emblazoned with pearls, that Princess Diana tried on in Rhodes' shop in 1985, which sold for £10,400. The Princess later wore a custom replica of the dress, with Ms Rhodes saying she asked for a "bigger wrap".
