Bonhams Miami 2025 provided a fascinating take on the US market. Held on May 3 at the Miami International Autodrome, the auction saw plenty of business, but only one car above $1m sold on the day, with another following after the sale’s completion. There was certainly bidding appetite beyond $1m, but not quite enough to secure some of the highest lots.

Rétromobile and the recently merged Gooding Christie’s have partnered in a multi-year arrangement that sees the auction house serve as the official partner for the Paris and New York events from 2026 onwards. As Monday mornings go, this one’s not bad. The sun’s beating down on Silverstone’s asphalt, there’s a nice light breeze and the National circuit pit garages are full of interesting kit, from a 1960s TVR Griffith and some historic Mustangs to a McLaren P1, and all sorts of Porsche 911 GT3s of pretty much every variety in between. Lob in an Ariel Atom and a Caterham, and it’s a bustling mix of race teams and track day enthusiasts.

Broad Arrow Villa d’Este 2025 may be the official partner of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and thus heavily associated with BMW – indeed, it’s hosting a BMW-only sale during the weekend – but the firm is bringing a distinctively Italian twist to its lot list. Held at Villa Erba, just a short stroll (or boat ride) from Villa d’Este, the BMW-only sale takes place on Saturday, May 24, with the all-marque sale taking place on Sunday, May 25.

The RM Sotheby’s Milan sale, which takes place just prior to the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este weekend, sees a 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lungo Cabriolet by Pinin Farina lead 37 lots to be auctioned at Fonderia Carlo Macchi, a former metal foundry-turned-fashion show hotspot. At the time of writing the final lots were being confirmed but very rare racing Porsche 911s are a key theme, though it’s a diverse lot list that incorporates a little something for all tastes.
