London Concours 2025 saw a 1993 Bugatti EB110 SuperSport take top honours at the ninth running of the event, held in the heart of the capital on June 3-5. The Best in Show Bugatti, VIN001, was built for the Brunei royal family, and it’s one of 33 SuperSport models produced of which 18 are still known to the Bugatti club.

Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025 saw a ‘home’ victory for Alfa Romeo, a much-storied Scuderia Ferrari-run P3 Monoposto entered by Germany’s Auriga Collection. Held over the weekend of May 23-25 in Cernobbio on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, Villa d’Este was blessed with scorching weather and a similarly hot selection of cars. Following judging and a drinks reception on the Friday, the palatial grounds of the Villa d’Este hotel were packed.

A Maserati Ghibli II that is believed to have been the donor car behind the 2020 Project Rekall restomod proposal, has been found for sale on a Facebook group. The car was put together by Garage Italia, the company founded by Lapo Elkann, the great-grandson of Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli – and board member of Ferrari and head of promotion for the Fiat Group. Project Rekall was revealed on Maserati’s now-defunct Fuoriserie Instagram account as a modern take on the Shamal (pictured above).

The 2025 FuoriConcorso brought the very best of Italian motor-racing history to the fore, with two days of stunning cars in the sun-drenched environs of the villas above Lake Como. Held on May 24-25 at the same time as the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance and the BMW-led events at Villa Erba, FuoriConcorso had a cool, calm demeanour all of its own. This year’s theme – Velocissimo – got off to a great start with a line-up of Italian Formula 1 cars from across several eras and manufacturers.

With €31m of sales and a 78 percent sell-through rate, it was a good debut event for the auction house, with two auctions held over two days. However, there were some interesting trends, and could-be trends, to unpack from the results. The Saturday sale catered for BMWs only, while the Sunday sale held at Villa Erba had a more wide-ranging selection.

RM Sotheby’s Milan 2025 pulled the curtain back on the Lake Como car week with a fascinating sale that highlighted both the tightrope-walk nature of auction results. Held in a disused factory in Milan – admittedly one beloved of many Italian fashion brands – an hour away from Como, the location might have deterred some floating overseas customers but it was a sale that had some fantastic highs but some difficult lows and no sales; at the time of writing no sell-through rate had been released.
