IntroductionObesity represents a significant and pressing global health concern, characterized by an excessive accumulation of body fat that poses a substantial risk of developing various chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes [T2D], cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome, among other medical comorbidities [1]. Epidemiological data from the United States collected between 2017 and 2020 indicate a concerning prevalence rate of 42% for obesity (as reviewed in [2]).
