Last week, I got a text message from my sister asking if I had seen the story about a pregnant woman in Atlanta who was being kept on life support until her baby was born. “WHAT? No, let me go look for it now. Jesus,” I replied. “This can’t be real,” I thought as I typed keywords into my computer. But of course, this is real. And I should have known it was real because it has happened before. Then, as now, it has led us smack into a convoluted debate about law, medical ethics, and abortion.
