One of the townhouses from the third season of The Block NZ is back on the market for sale – with a sensational twist. The owner of the three-bedroom property at 26A Newell Street, in Auckland’s Point Chevalier, is selling the property herself with the help of her mum. Luckily, they are both real estate agents. Ray White agent Emma Duncan bought the TV home in 2015 when she was looking for a place for herself and her then teenage daughter. Start your property searchFind your dream home today.

The site of a deadly Dunedin blaze has been listed for sale for $400,000-plus. 3 Phillips Street, in Kensington, hit the headlines in 2022 after a fire at the boarding house there left one of the tenants, Christopher Paul Bonisch, dead. A second fire broke out at the property last year, consuming the derelict double-storey villa and leaving only rubble. Owner Brent Matthews had initially planned to redevelop the 627sqm site but decided to put it on the market for sale instead.

It’s a beachfront home in Auckland’s wealthiest neighbourhood that’s also just around the corner from the harbour bridge. It’s also on the market for the first time in 17 years. Back in 2007, the townhouse at 2/7 Masefield Avenue, in Herne Bay, sold for $1.325 million. Now it has a CV of $3.225m, but listing agent Louise De Martin, from New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty, told OneRoof it still represented good buying, with most other waterfront homes in the suburb fetching $10m-plus.

A new townhouse development aimed specifically at Pasifika first-home buyers has found immediate success. Two of the homes built by Greater Living were scooped up before they even hit the open market, and Ray White listing agent Pat Lapalapa believes it won’t be long before he finds buyers for the remaining five, which are on the market for under $600,000. “The three-bedroom places went under contract within a week. They didn’t even make it to the market,” Lapalapa told OneRoof.
