The National Press Club (NPC) held a news briefing today on World Press Freedom Day updating the current conditions of three U.S. journalists, two of whom are being held captive in Russia, and Austin Tice who is being held captive in Syria. In her opening remarks, NPC president Emily Wilkins reiterated that journalism is not a crime and called for the immediate release of all three journalists being held.

The ex-CEO revealed this on the US Based YouTube show Breaking Point. Dorsey’s revelations have set off debates on freedom of expression and journalistic freedom in India. The world has been speculating about a significant advancement in an interim deal regarding Iran’s nuclear program.However, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Sunday that if Iran were to pursue a nuclear arms program, the West would not be able to prevent it, calling any talk of Tehran seeking nuclear weapons a falsehood. Khamenei emphasized that Iran’s religious beliefs prohibit the pursuit of nuclear arms and suggested that the West is aware of this.

He has been a controversial yet dominant figure in Turkish politics since 2003 holding various positions including prime minister and president. In the runoff election held on May 15, neither Erdogan nor his opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, was able to secure the necessary 50% of the votes, leading to a second round of voting.
