Downingtown East led Mt. St. Josephs in a non-league girls’ lacrosse clash after one quarter and were tied 8-8 through three quarters. But the Irish had a 4-2 edge in the fourth to win 12-10 it. WEST GOSHEN - The West Chester baseball squad split its final doubleheader of the regular season Friday, topping PSAC rival Mansfield 6-3 in the opener before falling 3-1 in the nightcap. Ranked 22nd nationally, the Golden Rams won the four-game series with the Mountaineers and will take a 35-14 overall record into the postseason. It was Senior Day at Serpico Field, but WCU (17-11 in the PSAC) had already locked up third place in the Eastern Division standings.

DOWNINGTOWN – With one week remaining in the regular season, there is a two-way race for the Ches-Mont boys’ lacrosse championship after all. All alone in first place, Downingtown West staged an amazing comeback in the last 105 seconds of regulation Thursday, only to have Bishop Shanahan sophomore Nate Kennedy end it with a monumental goal less than two minutes into overtime.

In Ches-Mont boys’ lacrosse action, Bishop Shanahan blanked Sun Valley 18-0. The Eagles led 11-0 after one quarter and 17-0 at the half. Mack Manley and Landon Murray each scored three goals and Nate Bracken added two goals and three assists for Shanahan, who improve to 6-3 in the Ches-Mont, 11-3 overall. Goalies Dom Napoli and Wyatt Stockton combined to share the shutout. West Chester Henderson 13, Unionville 6 – The Warriors took command by outscoring the Longhorns 4-0 in the second period.
