A week after becoming the first league team to knock off Downingtown East since 2021, West Chester Rustin cleared a second consecutive hurdle by finishing strong to better Bishop Shanahan, 8-5, on the road. It moves the Golden Knights to 8-0 in the Ches-Mont and sets up an intriguing first place showdown Thursday as Rustin hosts 7-0 Downingtown West.

    In high school baseball action Monday, Oxford registered an 11-6 comeback victory over visiting Kennett in Ches-Mont American action. Kayden Baumgardner went six innings, scattered nine hits and allowed no earned runs for the Hornets, and also had three hits and drove in two runs at the plate. Nolan Neskie chipped in with three hits for Oxford. Alexis Laboy went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Blue Demons.

Not even if the Golden Rams' are down to their last strike. That was the case Saturday in game one of a key home doubleheader against PSAC East foe Shippensburg.

    The Immaculata baseball squad scored 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to win a non-conference game against Penn College 22-11. Will Kelley drove in four runs, while Steven Theisen and Kristian Saucedo each knocked in three runs to lead the Mighty Macs. Alex LePage threw a planned two scoreless innings with five strikeouts and was credited with his fifth win of the season. With the win Immaculata improved to 9-21 overall.

    LONDON GROVE - It wound up being the kind of intense, defensive struggle that the Wilson boys' lacrosse squad were prepared to play. And in the end, it came as no surprise that junior midfielder Luke Azzanesi wound up notching the game-winner. In a marquee non-league clash Thursday evening, the visiting Bulldogs edged Avon Grove 5-4 to improve their overall record to 11-1.
