Ireland have been dealt a major blow ahead of the Women's Rugby World Cup later this year, with confirmation that Erin King will miss the tournament due to a serious knee injury. The 21-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's Guinness Six Nationsdefeat to England, and is set to undergo surgery today which will end her hopes of playing at the World Cup in England.

Bernard Jackman believes the signings of Jordie Barrett and Rieko Ioane could start a trend of All Blacks stars making the move to Leinster. The province pulled off another major coup this morning with the confirmation that Ioane would be joining them on a short-term contract next season, in a similar deal to the one which saw them recruit Barrett.

Pete Wilkins has resigned from his position as head coach of Connacht with immediate effect, with scrum coach Cullie placed in charge until the end of the season. Wilkins had not been with the team for their last four games, with the Englishman having been on "sick leave", according to the province. However, Connacht and the IRFU have confirmed this morning that he has now left his role.

Joe McCarthy believes there is a target on Leinster's backs as they return to BKT United Rugby Championship action this weekend. The province are already locked into a home quarter-final with four games to go in the regular season, and they could seal a top-two seeding this weekend, which would ensure a home semi-final should they get there.
