The enforcement trends of 2023 have continued into 2024, especially with respect to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC or Commission) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA or Agency). Both have ramped up enforcement activities despite obstacles such as delayed budget approvals and the imminent industry push back due to recent Supreme Court rulings. The CPSC remains committed to its enforcement agenda in 2024.

No technological slouch, Ukraine is still outgunned by Russia’s long-established defense industrial base and its quantitative advantage in electronic warfare. Kyiv, therefore, should consider going further than it already has with more cost-effective communication solutions rather than trying to match Russia on the EW battlefield.

On March 7, 2024, the Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”) issued its judgment in the case of Endemol Shine (Case C‑604/22). In this case, the CJEU was called upon to assess whether oral disclosure of information could be considered as processing of personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and to clarify the relationship between personal data protection and public access to documents.
