AbstractBackground Chronic pouchitis is a complication after restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis in ulcerative colitis (UC) and patients with familial adenomatous polyposis. Despite medical advances, many patients develop chronic inflammation in the ileal pouch, affecting their quality of life.
