Through a collaboration between Marshall Economic Development, the Prysmian Group, Marshall ISD and the Marshall News Messenger, Marshall High School junior Morgan McGuire was named as August's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month on Wednesday. The CTE Student of the Month award is sponsored by the Prysmian Group and includes a plaque with the winner’s name, a certificate to recognize Harrison’s accomplishments, and a $250 gift card on behalf of Marshall Economic Development.

The Elysian Fields Elementary School recently kicked off their annual Read to Ride program for third grade students at the district. The Read to Ride program helps to provide a brand-new bicycle, along with helmet and pads, to every eligible third grade student who improves his or her grade level reading by at least one level in the academic year. The district took to social media to celebrate the annual program starting for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Texas State Technical College campus in Marshall recently highlighted graduate Monique Gray, who now serves as the production supervisor for The Crosby Group based out of Longview. Gray recently told Texas State College campus (TSTC) in Marshall that she had never wanted to have a “girly job” when growing up. She said that she had an interest in mechanical work after traveling throughout the United States with her father growing up due to his career as a truck driver.

The event will include several vendors such as The Cloud Cart, Walkers Mill Vineyard & Winery, Western Charm Designs, and Pearl Snap Princess Hat Bar. MISD to consider stadium construction bids in October

The Marshall ISD Board of Trustees discussed the potential need for a special meeting in October to consider bids on the continued construction of the Maverick Stadium at a meeting last week. During the agenda review meeting on Thursday, Superintendent Richelle Langley commented on the construction process for the stadium upgrades at the high school campus. She said that they were tentatively considering calling for a special meeting on Oct.
