There are so many golf training aids out there that promise real-time feedback and great results, but do they really come through in the clutch to stop bad mistakes? In my experience, not very often. Sure, there are benefits to some of them - like the Putting Mirror to help with your setup in the short game, or the SuperSpeed system to practice more speed off the tee - but most of them are just sort of gimmicky.

Golf is hard, with each shot requiring plenty of strategy and focus. But one thing that can make the game just a little bit easier is incorporating solid course management skills. So what is course management in golf? It's the idea of putting together a realistic on-course strategy that aligns with your level and style of play. Look, most golfers hate going to the driving range with an actual plan, and would rather just whip out the driver and let the big dog eat as much as possible. In my humble opinion, few things beat a sunny day on the range with a couple of beers, a few buddies, and a de facto long-drive competition with a bunch of Happy Gilmore swings. Unfortunately, if you're actually trying to improve at golf, the aforementioned plan isn't really the best strategy.

I'm someone who really struggles in the short game, with my golf wedges often refusing to do what they're supposed to do anytime I'm near the green. Trust me, though, it's more user error than anything else - which is why I go overkill on short-game tips from bunkers and greenside rough. Most amateurs spend so much time trying to master longer tee shots or better iron shots that they never really focus on maximizing their golf wedges.
