Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8242 is preparing to host a flag decommissioning ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, and members of the Territorial Young Marines will assist. The event is open to the public and will take place at Post 8242, located at 7120 US Highway 95 in Yuma. Senior Vice Commander David Ibarra said this new tradition kicked off last month.

The Yuma County Library District held its annual Teddy Bear Picnic event at the Yuma Main Library on Saturday, bringing families together for a day of fun in the sun. Geared toward families with children aged 12 and under, the event invited Yumans to bring a sack lunch, a blanket to sit on and a beloved stuffed animal. In addition to games and a story time activity, the picnic featured an appearance by Booker Bear.
