Yumans were greeted with some gusty winds Tuesday morning, and a few (un)lucky people had the chance to see the KFC sign perched outside the 4th Avenue location come crashing down. Following a special meeting held on Friday, March 28, the Yuma Elementary School District One Governing Board elected to offer Denis Ponder, the current chief financial officer, a position as superintendent and announced it would enter contract negotiations with him. “The Governing Board is excited to progress to the next phase with Denis Ponder,” Governing Board President Keith Ware said in a press release.
