Michael John Watson, aged 78, was hit by a Nissan X-Trail coming out of the drive-thru at a McDonald's restaurant in School Road, Donnington, Telford. The retired civil servant was lying on the ground for an hour and a half before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with multiple injuries. He suffered a brain bleed, three broken ribs and a detached retina in his left eye after the crash, which happened on December 14 last year.

Patrick George Crisp, aged 77, was out for a ride on a sunny March day this year when he went into the back of a stationary Openreach van on the B4396 Maesbury Road, Osbaston, Oswestry. An inquest into Mr Crisp’s death was held this week at Shropshire Coroner’s Court at Guildhall in Shrewsbury. The court heard that an air ambulance was sent to the scene as well as road ambulance paramedics and the police after reports of a crash at about 11.50am on March 5.

Leanne Vaughan’s 17-year-old daughter Lily-May died after a crash in Shawbury caused by Lily-May's boyfriend, Logan Addison. Shrewsbury Crown Court heard that Addison, 20, showed “no remorse” for killing Lily-May as he was sentenced to five and a half years behind bars for causing death by dangerous driving. After the hearing, Leanne read a statement outside court, paying tribute to Lily-May and calling for change.

Logan Addison, aged 20, was “going like f***” before he crashed his Volkswagen Golf into an electricity pole in Shawbury, killing 17-year-old Lily-May Vaughan, who was in the front passenger seat. A jury at Shrewsbury Crown Court took two hours and five minutes to find Addison guilty of causing Miss Vaughan's death by dangerous driving after a week-long trial in late March and early April of this year. Two and a half months later, Addison’s day of reckoning finally arrived today (Friday, June 20).
