Kiersten Russell, the twin sister of Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell, died Wednesday in Tuscaloosa, the Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit announced in a release Thursday. “After speaking with the family, and in an attempt to quell media inquiries, they have given permission to confirm the death of Kiersten Russell (Sister of Keelon Russell),” a statement from captain Jack Kennedy read.

Alabama men’s basketball will face a coach it knows well this season. The Crimson Tide has scheduled a game against Kennesaw State for the 2025-26 season, a source with knowledge of the schedule confirmed to AL.com. The Owls are coached by Antoine Pettway, the former Alabama player and longtime assistant coach. Rocco Miller was first to report the matchup. The game will be played Dec. 21 at Propst Arena in Huntsville. Pettway spent 2008 through 2023 on the Alabama staff.

It extends as well to Germie Bernard, a returning starter, and Isaiah Horton, a prized transfer portal addition from Miami. Even though there are plenty of notable players, there’s more to the group. “We have a lot of secret gems,” Williams said on Alabama’s offseason show called the Bama Standard. “Some guys on offense like a Jalen Hale.” That’s as specific as Williams got. Even if he doesn’t reach Henry’s level of success and dominance, Hill playing even 75% like Henry would go a long ways. The comparison has been made. Hill, heading into his second year with Alabama football, was asked on the Bama Standard podcast this week whom he patterns his running style after. He chose a former Alabama running back and Heisman Trophy winner.
