Another round of severe thunderstorms are expected across the region today. Storms yesterday produced several warnings, and we are expected similar conditions this afternoon. Temperatures build quickly into the 80s for the afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler today by about 5 to 8 degrees, but conditions will still be ripe for severe storms. Wind gusts around 40 mph are expected through the afternoon. Strong winds out of the south will drive warmer air into the Midwest.

The line of storms continues towards the I-55 corridor. Strong storms are expected through the morning with all modes of severe weather possible. The line moves towards Champaign area by the 8 am hour. We will see a lull in the storms for the middle of the day before things build back into the area.
