Reassuring data on the safety of anti-IL-6 therapies in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy has come from the use of the agents to treat COVID-19. The retrospective cohort study [link here] included all women with COVID-19 who were treated with an anti-IL-6 during pregnancy at two tertiary hospitals in London. In total, 25 women were prescribed an anti-IL-6, with 24 receiving tocilizumab in line with national guidance for COVID-19.
