SANTO DOMINGO — Identifying and conducting autopsies for the 225 people killed in the Jet Set nightclub's roof collapse four days ago has been a task so daunting it overwhelmed the country's morgue. The original Broadway recording of “Hamilton” by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Vicente Fernández’s enduring ranchera song “El Rey” and Freddy Fender’s breakthrough song “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” have been inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. The trio of hits are among the 25 recordings and albums selected Wednesday for preservation at the nation’s audio history library.

Authorities in the Dominican Republic have identified 146 of the 221 victims killed when the roof of a Santo Domingo nightclub collapsed earlier this week. The Attorney General’s Office of the Dominican Republic released the list of names Thursday morning alongside a statement saying that teams of forensic doctors and pathologists are still "working tirelessly to perform all the autopsies" and identify the remaining bodies retrieved from the rubble.
