BETHLEHEM, Pa. — On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate its 250th anniversary. And the Lehigh Valley is planning to commemorate its own role in the history of the country. Lehigh Valley 250, a collection of six regional arts, culture, education and history organizations, has formed to do just that. It will create a series of exhibitions, walking tours, digital offerings and performances beginning this year and carrying through July 2026.

A fire broke out at the Five 10 Flats on East Third Street. Five fire trucks and multiple police cars are currently at the scene. Emergency vehicle sirens were first heard around 1:15 p.m. By 1:33 p.m. the fire trucks started to hose off the building. A fifth fire truck arrived at the scene at 1:52 p.m.Police are blocking off the South Bethlehem Greenway on Pierce Street. Non-emergency dispatch and police officers at the scene declined to comment at this time.

After seven weeks of embracing creative skills, 81 10th-graders on Friday unveiled the mural they painted in collaboration with local artist Kyle Edwards.
