    Opinion Nicole McIsaac, Former Managing Editor Four years, 48 months, 1,640 days or 126,230,400 seconds. That’s how long I have been a member of the Quinnipiac Chronicle. As graduation nears and I reflect upon how my time in the organization has impacted me, I am left with a simple phrase to describe my experience: Be open-minded. But in order for that meaning to come to fruition, let’s rewind a bit. In 2019, I came into Quinnipiac University with the sole mindset of being a broadcast journalist.

    Picture this: You’re walking past a group of individuals, trying to get to a place you need to be. With the anxiety of feeling the eyes following your every move, you’re suddenly greeted with a whistle or maybe even a degrading comment. You just experienced catcalling, a form of street sexual harassment. One might think this type of action only occurs within a city environment, however, the truth is this happens more often than we think on a college campus — and it is simply not OK.

Throughout my childhood, I’d often find myself glued to the television for hours while binge-watching the sponge run around catching jellyfish.
