Nearly half of the U.S. population watches national-level sports at least once a month, with numbers ringing in at a whopping 161.1 million viewers forecasted for 2024, according to Statista. But I would bet that less than 2% understand the business behind them. I’m not talking about draft picks, compensation or sports betting.

Do you like “Dune?” Dune your Mom. That was a popular joke when the first “Dune” movie came out, and with “Dune: Part Two”’s release this month, it’s made a resurgence online. But when people tell those jokes, there’s always some underlying sense of shame, like you’re not acting your age or you’re being immature. That shouldn’t be the case— toilet humor and silly jokes don’t reflect someone’s maturity or lack thereof. Instead, it shows a healthy and socially aware adult.

As such, the paper has published three opinion pieces about the Israel-Hamas war since Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel, which have varied in political leanings and perspectives on the conflict.

Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley lost the South Carolina Primary on Feb. 24 to former President Donald Trump. It was a devastating political defeat. Haley was the governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, so a “home-field advantage” should’ve helped her. Instead, she might as well have been a stranger that voters in the state had never heard of.

Quinnipiac University decided to offer that opportunity to its students beginning in 2011, allowing them to register for fully-online, three-credit courses that are conducted in between the fall and spring semesters. During the aptly named January Term, or J-Term, students can register for courses ranging from Understanding Theatre to Managerial Accounting.
