Matthew Hutton and Adam Pattison have been promoted to the roles, while Rich Cowell joins the firm as business services director in Penrith.     A charity run by a Lake District timeshare scheme has donated £500 to the Calvert Trust. Local retired businessman and former mayor of Keswick, Alan Dunn is a trustee of the The Keswick Bridge (Lake District) Appeal and visited the Calvert Trust, near Keswick, to make the donation. The Keswick Bridge Appeal is a charity to which visitors to the Keswick Bridge timeshare resort can contribute.

    Visitors to the Lake District can enjoy seamless journeys by train and bus this summer with the return of Keswick’s virtual railway station. Avanti West Coast has added Keswick as a destination on rail journey planners – reintroducing a ticket covering both modes of transport to travel to the region. It comes as bus company Stagecoach launches its summer timetable – doubling the frequency of services connecting Penrith and Keswick to every 30 minutes.

    A former West Cumbrian factory is set to become the base of a leading regional firm. Genr8north has applied for permission to transform the derelict Kangol factory in Cleator into office space. If Cumberland Council give it the go-ahead, leading project management and engineering company React Engineering plans to move in. React Engineering’s team of 60 is currently based at its head office in Cleator Moor and a satellite office in Warrington.

Robin Anderson will take on the role from Scott Donaldson, who will become group director of H&H Group – a newly created role. Mr Anderson, current head of farmstock operations for Harrison & Hetherington, will now oversee the entire farmstock business.
