A four-year-old girl with a rare genetic condition that can cause her to have up to 30 seizures a day has received huge support from fundraisers to help with her round-the-clock care. Little Grace-Louise, from Houston in Renfrewshire, was diagnosed with CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD), which is an extremely rare form of epilepsy, weeks after suffering her first seizure at just seven months old.

When Melanie and Luke Dyer's child drew his final breath and peacefully died in their arms, it was a calm and beautiful moment — just as CHAS Diana children’s nurse Louise Esson promised it would be. "We just held him and told him we loved him and were proud of him," said mum Mel, whose son, Matthew, passed away aged 11 on October 29, 2023. "I felt like he felt safe. I think he felt loved. CHAS and Louise helped us see it is all quite a beautiful thing, in the end.
