School has been out a lot of days. Snow and icy roads have been bad for folks and buses to travel on. Better today, (Sunday, January 26), the snow is melting and the temperature is 50. Fiona Bruce becomes National Garden Scheme ambassador

The National Garden Scheme has announced journalist and presenter Fiona Bruce as its newest ambassador. Bruce – who became the first woman to present the BBC Ten O’Clock News and the first to host a general election results programme – called it a “great honour and privilege” to be part of the charity. “I’ve been visiting National Garden Scheme gardens for as long as I can remember, it’s one of the great pleasures, so to be part of the charity is a total thrill.

Tyler Grange makes salary ranges publicly available

Environmental consultancy Tyler Grange has become one of only 16% of UK companies to disclose individual pay ranges to employees. It has also voluntarily revealed its gender pay gap has dropped to 13.6% from 14.6% in 2023.
