An ABC investigation has revealed that police may have failed to identify another victim of convicted healthcare killer Garry Davis, who was found guilty of murdering two nursing home residents and attempting to kill a third by injecting them with lethal doses of insulin. Elizabeth Eifler, 86, died within the same 48-hour period in which three other residents were injected with deadly doses of insulin by Davis, an aged care worker, at SummitCare Wallsend in Newcastle in October 2013.

A retired detective has told the ABC police feared a healthcare murderer could have been a serial killer after they searched his bedroom and found stolen medical items and a collection of death notices. Garry Davis murdered two people and attempted to murder a third by injecting them with lethal doses of insulin at Summitcare Wallsend aged care facility in Newcastle in 2013. During the investigation, police carried out a search of the home where the then 26-year-old lived with his grandparents.

More than 10,000 Australian women registered for the class action launched by law firm Shine against medical device giant Johnson and Johnson. Federal Court Judge Michael Lee approved the $300 million settlement in March last year, but said he was "troubled" by it. The administrators of the settlement fund say eligibility and compensation assessments will not be completed for some time.
