So back to our initial question, why are big brands still obsessed with preaching the ideals (especially the ones that involve conspicuous lifestyles)? I suspect, they are not actually targeting the market of people who lack self-actualization, but instead those who lack esteem. By blurring the lines between the two concepts, the brands can successfully "trick"people into thinking their brands are associated with larger-than-life missions. So what does self-actualization mean in the post-AI world?
